C2 Holley 3367 Fuel Bowl/Metering Block Replacement Source

    Good morninig,

I would like to replace the fuel bowls and Metering Block on my Holley 3367. When I contacted Holley, they told me they did not stock the part, refered me to a vendor that only sells complete carbs. Is my only option to watch ebay and other places for used parts?

      Mike,

I have seen their adds, but feedback on company service looks pretty grim. I will call to see availability and ship time. I am hoping for another source.

        Frank,

Can you explain why you want to replace the bowls and metering block, when the bowls leak epoxy can be used and it works well.

If the metering block is the original there should be a holley # stamped in the top and the replacement block will not have these numbers. The idle feed restriction and emulsion holes are located inside this part and are calibrated for your engine combo so be careful.

You might try to get one of the books on Holley carbs and check out the numbers for the parts as the same parts were used on different model carbs for other car models like chrysler or ford. Holley carbs for those models would be cheap.

One of the carb restorers who have been mentioned in previous threads may have parts.Eric Jackson or Jerry McNeish, etc.

I've seen comments but I have order from them with no problems. I order a correct metering block for my 67 L79 carb and it work fine.

                Bill,

Jerry MacNeish does a lot of things, but I don't think carbs are one of them. Jerry Luck or Bob Kunz might be able to help.

                    Joe,
Don't mean it personal, but did you look at MacNeish's web site before saying he doesn't do carbs? He certainly does; many members have shown examples of his work on this forum. Again, not personal, but for these technical discussions to be helpful, contributors should make sure of facts before giving advice. Some say "I really don't know anything about xyz but blah, blah, blah," which is not helpful at best and often misleading.

Re: C2 Holley 3367 Fuel Bowl/Metering Block Replacement Source

I appreciate all who have responded. I am not going to buy through Chicago Corvette. I cannot support bad business practices.

To answer those that have asked, I purchased a dated carb from a guy who quit on a restoration. he had the carb rebuilt by a shop in Ohio. Both fuel bowls were epoxied over with grey epoxy. I know that this is common practice, but as I complete my engine rebuild I have spent considerable time and money to achieve proper finishes, I am having a hard time accepting the current grey epoxy solution. In addition, the secondary fuel bowl also had a stripped fuel valve seat lock screw.

One other issue/question I have is the metering block. Is the one I have a restamp? I have posted a picture for comment.

Since replacement parts are hard to come by, I have removed the grey epoxy from the fuel bowl, and am going to try a clear marine epoxy. I am going to rebuild the carb and run as is.

Again, thanks for the help and comments.

Somehow I missed that Jerry MacNeish did carbs. Sorry about that. I did not check his web site first. My bad.

Frank, IMO, the 4743 metering block is correct for your carburetor and the double stamp looks OK to me. Many times people epoxy these bowls just to be safe so if you use the bowls it's better to be safe so be careful here.

I have purchased a secondary throttle shaft from Chicage Corvette without any problems and I know he sells on ebay. Unless someone can report bad business practices from them it's not fair to criticize FWIW.
