    NCRS Convention questions

I've been a NCRS member for a few years and am in the process of a frame-off on my 68 convertible. I've learned a lot about what I should and should not do to make my car as correct as is possible and am grateful to the NCRS for the help. However, the car will never be judged since the trim tag is missing and there is no other documentation. I am not concerned about the documentation issues with the car since I enjoy working on it, driving it, and am not looking to make any money from it when or if I sell it. The Convention this year is a few hours from my home and I've been considering attending as a spectator. Since I do not have a car to enter and I'm really not very interested in judging it is not clear what I might find to interest me at the convention. I enjoy looking at cars, comparing how cars similar to mine are assembled and finished, and talking with owners about their experience and lessons learned. What does the convention have for spectators like myself? For anyone that has attended as a spectator, was it worth the trip?

    Thanks,

    John Brough

    John,

I'm sorta in the same boat as you. I attended the San Diego convention mainly to go to Duke's fine seminar. I think you will find the seminars informative. Even if you're not super interested in judging, the advanced judging seminars are cool because Terry is a good instructor and you will learn about the car(s) being discussed. Talking to car owners is fun. I like to take pictures of the cars on the judging field, especially ones similar to mine. You might even ask the 68 team leader if you can observer judge. That would be another good way to learn.

Yes, all good but you must register for the National to attend any of these events.

You could also drive your car and enter it into Sportsman, if it is finished in time, you don't need a rim tag for that, and the seminars and general conversations with the members about Corvettes is always fun for me.
