Last week I purchased a movers dolly rated at 1000 pounds from Harbor Freight to use with other dollies to set the scissor lift halves on while get ready to set it up. I wanted to test each half before I put them in place and connect them together. Each dolly was carrying about 500 pounds. As I was lowering the lift, the dolly from Harbor Freight caved in. No one got hurt and the lift didn't fall over so all is good there. The label on the dolly said "Hardwood construction 1000 pound capacity". After getting another of my dollies under the lift I took the pieces to the workbench and removed the carpet from the load bearing members. The load bearing pieces were made of 2 pieces of 3/8" Chinese plywood. Junk! I won't use any of this crap in my cabinet business. I know, you get what you pay for and I chose to buy cheap but this is dangerous misrepresentation. So be warned- be careful out there! Just sayin'.
