69 Coupe Soft-Ray Door Glass Opinions

I was wondering if I could get some advice on what to do with my door glass...

They are the originals but in my opinion are badly scratched from the door whiskers. I bought a "nice clean" set from a member on the Driveline a couple years back but when I got them the one was as bad as mine and the other was totaly scrap so in disgust I just threw everything in a box for "later".

Well later is fast approaching so I was wondering what all options I might have other than to luck out and find some Dec 68-Jan 69 glass that really is good.

My options as I see it are:

Polish my originals as best as I can and just use them.

Buy some repops(but are the tinted ones close enough to pass judging)?

Find some clean Astro-Ventilation glass, polish out the LOF logo and reapply it with the correct date code. Does anyone do this? You can see on my repop winshield where the logo was polished off and the LOF one applied so maybe someone does this for door glass too?

    Any advice is appreciate.

Replacement side glass is thinner, so the judges will take a deduct for that. Don't ask me how much as I do not judge anymore. If you can polish the side glass you might get by, of if you just leave it alone, the deduct would be minimal for condition.

Personal opinion, I would probably leave it alone.

Greg I would leave them alone also.

If you don't wanna do that check out this previous thread were a poster claimed he could polish out even deep scratches with minimal distortion, and includes very impressive photos that appeared to back up his claim. However, I've never tried this method and cannot vouch for it, but it's interesting nonetheless:

Thanks guys. I was also leaning towards leaving them as is so that's probably what I'll do. Is there anything that can be used on them to make them less noticable though, like maybe a wax or???? I had read on a forum some place to use crazy glue to fill the scratches. I can't see that lasting but it might work to a degree....

Pat I remember that thread now that I read through it again and the results are amazing, just like the price of the kit!
