Replacing Starter, AC Compressor, Radiator, Generator, Power steering pump and other

I just bought a 1967 Corvette.
I want to replace parts before I have problems with them.
I want to get the car judged in July.
Will points be deducted if I replace these items with correct reproductions?

How original is your car and these components? If your car has its original components including A/C, I would access each component prior to replacement. Get a copy of a judging guide for your car and other references available from NCRS to help inform you of what is correct for your car.

If you have original correctly dated parts, all of the components you mentioned in your post can be rebuilt and restored. This in my opinion would be the best way to go to maintain originality and maximize judging points. My understanding is most reproductions will take a hit when judged.
If you find the components on your car are not original then finding dated, correct parts for your car is pretty straight forward.

Agree with Frank, most repo parts will take a hit. I see by your number you are new to the NCRS. There is a world of information to be had here, but as Frank said you need to get some books and read up on your car. Get it Judged just the way it is, then you will know for sure what items need addressed. If your car has a generator then that needs to be replaced with an alternator. Learn to use the archives on this site as most issues have been addressed at one time or another. Another good thing to do before you start replacing parts is go to as many meets as you can, talk to other 67 owners and the judges there. take notes and most of all drive the darn thing and enjoy it!

Just as a point of interest, midyears without options are easier on point accumulations. Less to go wrong. So anyone looking at judging just for the points should consider a bare bones car.........
