Australian ZR1 (no, not the Pro Team 63, a 2010)

Thought you guys might be interested in a pic of my "old" ZR1, now residing in Australia. Note the current position of the steering wheel..... it took a long, long time to move it three feet or so

I'll let the current owner know that your services are avaiable to do his future conversions

I had several Viper customers in Sydney, Australia, and their RHD conversions ran $50K-$60K (13 years ago); lots of parts fabrication involved, and I supplied many factory drawings and layouts to their conversion source.

The conversion has been in progress for a long, long time. Last pics I got showed the car completely disassembled. There's not a lot of space under the ZR1 hood, so it had to be a real challenge to rearrange everything under there.

In April of 2012 I had a ride in a RHD ZR1 owned by R=Terry Martin the panelbeater! Terry resides in AU.

Terry's was the first ZR1 converted in Australia.

I thought Peter Whiston owned and did the first 09 ZR1 conversion around the 200th 09 ZR1 built and I also know Dave Varcore had a very low VIN 09 ZR1 converted it was around the 600 th car built.

Actually Terry's 09 ZR1 arrived in Australia 3 days before Whistons. It is serial number 36. He didn’t get it converted straight away as our chapter tried to get it left as LHD under the Special Unique Vehicle Scheme here in Western Australia. However they would not approve this and he had it converted a year later. You are correct Roy I was mistaken, it wasnt the first converted, but it was still the first landed in Oz.
                      Cheers,
                      Gary
