Traveling to Winterfest - Old Town

I'll be driving to Old Town from North Carolina in our '96 and am hoping to get some suggestions from experienced folks on how to make the trip with minimal impact on condition and cleanliness – yes, we will be driving the car 588 miles and it is scheduled for flight judging. Sorry, trailering is not an option. I’m considering using painters tape on body panels behind all 4 wheel wells – good idea or not? Your suggestions will be appreciated.

Sounds like fun I'd just have my wife clean it then I'd wake up!

        Jim,

Many of us have driven our vetts to Meets; drive it you will do fine; no need for the tape; clean the car when you land and enjoy the mileage points that count and will help you to make Top Flight.

Jim, there is a white plastic like film that is very similar to what they use to cover new cars. Maybe you can try this on your wheel wells and front nose. Rock chips can always be of some concern on those front bumpers. If you are making the trip in two days, you may want to clean during one of your stops, then again when you get there. Remember, for the most part, these are national judges evaluating your car.
