Has anyone disassembled the front signal lamps? I see the socket is swedged onto the housing. What is a good way to unswedge the socket from the housing? I had my housings chromed and told the plater not to dip the housing too deep into the acid solution. Since I was not present during the acid dip I feel the socket was damaged. The signal lamps worked fine before chroming.

Re: 1963-67 Front Signal Lamps
Michael,
a search of thr restorer articles will reveal an article on how to remove the old socket/and how and where to get a replacement socket. You will have to buy a sacrifical lamp holder if I recall.Try using the search thread on this site for the article as I recall it was very helpful.

Re: 1963-67 Front Signal Lamps
Michael, assume you have verified that your Ft Parking Light is correct for your car (assume it's the 66), color of wire, lens, screws, and so on.
Best option: an old light can usually be found at swap meets & in poor shape, so should be cheep - good for donor part(s). OR find a GM NOS assembly these are perfect once tag is cut off.
You should (not positive) be able to get replacement parts from some of the antique car wiring people such as riwire.com Things like the light socket springs, contact buttons, . . however the same exact socket will be the major problem (I've not found one yet).- Top
