Good evening all. When Chevrolet transitioned from the Borg Warner tranny to the Muncie in 1963, were both transmissons pretty much the same overall length? Did it necessitate a change in drive shaft length?

Michael-----
They were exactly the same length and the same driveshaft was used for either. The transmission yokes were different, though, so the driveshaft/yoke assemblies used in PRODUCTION were different but the driveshafts, alone, were the same.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Bell housing did not change Bruce ....was the same for both trannies. My inquiry was more focused on the transmission lengths as they relate to the drive shaft length.
