I've used Aircraft stripper for fiberglass for 30+ years. Never had a single problem. The lacquer I applied on my 60 after stripping it still looks great and it was done in 1986. I think any problems would have cropped up by now.

I used a combination of Cap't Lee and blade scraping. Don't be afraid to try the blade technique, it works, or at least on my car it did. Then used Cap't Lee and basically wiped the residual paint and gray primer off. I use single edge razor blades in small disposal plastic holders that I got at the hardware store. They are sold as home window glass paint scrapers. I also used some special purpose blade holders that have a nice handle and hold a box cutter type blade.

Not if it's done properly. Some people swear by it.

However, it's like anything else, it has to be done properly. Here is a thread on what happens if you get too aggresive.
