65 coupe need hood info.

All, I have a 65 coupe with a 396, and I am trying to locate the correct hood for this car, the car came with a 67 hood on it, thanks again

Its very hard to find a real 65 hood. I found mine on ebay after a no sale listing I traded a new GM 65/66 to a man in Cal. that needed a 66 . 66s and later issue 65/66 show up from time to time . I think there are some good reproductions being made but I have not looked at them . When you find one be sure to check for the correct rivits.....Bill

My mistake. I didn't realize you had a 65 hood on your 66.

Are you saying the '65 and '66 big blocks did not have the same "power bulge" hood?

The '66 hoods (both flat and BB) should have the Corvette emblem at the left front corner.

The bulge is the same but 66 hoods have the Corvette emblem on the left front corner and also have the recessed areas on the underside for the attachment nuts unlike 65 hoods. Yours doesn't have the emblem so I assume it's a 65 hood.

The hood support is also on the opposite side. There weren't that many 65 out there with less than a half year introduction.

How big of a hurry are you in? I would say that Carlisle would be your best bet. That's where I found a real 66 hood for my car.

What do the correct rivits look like for a 65 power Bulge hood?
On the 65 hood there are no Emblems?
they just the grilles on both sides?
