    Robert,
On the back of the tach, you will see a pin that the wire can plug into.BuzzerTachPin.jpg That is for the tach alone. As I am sure you know a number of cars had buzzers, but were never hooked up.

Somewhere I have the list the gives you a general idea of what happened at approximately what vin number. I can dig it out, but there are some others guys that may be able to resite from memory. If no one post it, I will take a look and see if I can't post it for you.

At least you can take a look and see if your tach has the buzzer pin. You really cannot hear them anyway. My car has one, but I have not hooked it up yet. My partners 63 (fuelie) has one, but unless I put my head under the dash, I cannot hear it. His car is a little healthier than stock, but from what I hear (no pun intended), you cannot hear them anyway.

Let me know if there is anything else I can do.

    Enjoy that little beast.

I hope this helps a bit.

    Monte

My early 63 340 HP had one and the buzzer was loud. If it is factory installed look for a pink wire near your fuse box it gets it's power there.

        Don,

Mine and all the others I have heard are load too. Under full throttle, in the only car I have ever been in that had one working,i could not even tell it was there.
Like I mentioned, the car I was in was a little over stock, horse power wise. If I am not mistaken, the reason they were discontinued was the fact that people were complaining about them not working while in actuality they were working just fine, but under full load/power, they just could not be heard.

Don, I think you are one of the lucky ones that got one you could hear when you actually needed to. I am going to hook mine up because I have it. I will let you know how it sounds when I get my car flying down the road.

        What do you guys think.

My August 62 build fuelie has the buzzer. I never heard it but then again I probably never wound it out enough. Then one day the buzzer malfunctioned and would buzz every time the ignition was on. So I pulled the wire to shut it up.
