On page K61 section K sheet 9 of the AIM illustrates two parts that i can not locate. That would be part no. 3736188 plug and 3736167 seal. Any suggestions.

Re: 1957 corvette parts for post assembly
I don't have the assembly manual handy, but I believe the "parts" that are being referred to close up the hole that allows access to the bolt that attaches to the front of the door post.
If that is the case, these "parts" are nothing more than dum dum and resin. The hole was packed with dum dum to cover the bolt, then fiberglass resin was applied to seal the area.
The seal was then hand painted to match the exterior color of the car. Hit the weatherstrip with a little paint for the authentic look.

Re: 1957 corvette parts for post assembly
My AIM doesn't have a K section, but on F 9.00 it shows a 3936188 "plug". Building on what Ed said, I've found cars that had, from the bolt out, dum-dum, fiberglass disc the same size as the hole in the door, fiberglass resin, and body paint put on with a brush. I believe that disc is part number 3736188, referred to in the AIM as a plug. By 62, the AIM sheet F 7.00 (still no section K) shows "3711175 cement (1 0z.) Fill hole after installing screw assembly" That's what Ed described. I've not found anything in any AIM about the hand-brushed paint there, but never seen an unmolested car without it.- Top

Need new glasses. That would be section " F " page K61. I can uderstand the fiber glass plug. There is a weatherstrip seal at the top of the doorpost fastened with a rivet to the front window run. I wii try better the next time.- Top
