    Overspray on Wiper Arms

Does anyone know if there is a safe way to remove paint overspray from the windshield wiper arms? Looks like somebody got in a hurry during a repaint. I checked the archives and saw several people posting with the same issue but couldn't find a definitive answer. Other than this the arms are in good shape. The car is a '72.

    Thanks,

    Glen

    Re: Overspray on Wiper Arms

Glen - I had a similar problem with mine. There was some debate within a thread I started (https://www.forums.ncrs.org/showthre...inishes-for-72) as to whether the arms were painted or plated. I decided to take a chance and try the Jasco Premium Paint Remover, which did remove my overspray without changing the rest of the finish, so I'm thinking mine were a: plated, b: the original paint had already worn/weathered off, or c: weren't original.

Of course, when trying something like this, use sparingly, and test it on a less-visible spot first!

      Randy,

Thanks for the information. I'll buy some and try it on a small spot first. Hopefully it will work fo me.

      I appreciate the help,

      Glen

You may wan to consider trying a mild abrasive to remove the unwanted over spray and not the original factory applied black paint. One other option to consider is to walnut shell blast to the over spray.

          Ron,

There is no factory applied paint on the factory early C3 wiper arms. They were originally plated. The paint is for restoration.
