I started today to try to sort out some electrical gremlins and found some strange "bubba" work had been done on my front wiring harness. Two extra horns had been mounted and wired, the harness was not secured once it turned at the front fender and was laying across the bottom radiator mount. There was a lot of patches using electrical tape. I think the best fix is to get a new forward harness and clean it up rather than trying to repair this one. I did have a few questions that I was hoping someone could help me with:
1. Who maked the most correct wiring harnesses?
2. My clips are in place along the driver's fender but once the turn is make across the nose of the car they are missing. I know from the aim there is a clip next to the horn that has a bolt through it. The other holes do not seem to be threaded and I see some plasic barb retainers taped into the existing harness - are these retainers correct for the non tapped holes? What is a good source for whatever clips or retainers that I need.
3. The installation under the hood looks fairly straightforward but the AIM shows one section going through the firewall with a grommet. Withoug a lift how difficult is acess to this penetration going to be.
4. I'm planning to send the correct horn off to be restored and would like to go ahead and send the alarm horn as well. On the alarm horn are ther any tips to accessing the mounting bolt?
5. Is there anything else I should change out or check while I'm doing this work that I'm not thinking of?
Sorry for all the questions but I want to get this right.
Thanks for any advice,
Glen
