Ron Lovelace: PCV information request, 1967, L36

Ron, sometime ago you asked me to look at my pcv valve on my '67, L36. Sorry it has taken so long, but here is what I found:

5210216, stamped in very small fonts.
ACC9216, stamped below the above number in Large fonts

Then if you look at the bottom you see 3 dimples around the base. Also if you look up into the pcv valve you see the number 39 stamped.

Hope this helps in your research. Is this correct for my car? Ron, anyone? Thanks!

If it's original, it's the first one I ever heard of with the stampings you described. Can you post photos of it?

I've never seen an AC valve configured like this. However, I'm not saying it's not an original valve, only that I've never seen one like it. Also, I cannot find that any GM parts were ever released with a 521xxxx series part number.

The part number and metal formation are not GM. In fact this metal form only started at GM in late 67 as seen on 68 model years cars.

John, I have pulled more than one original 691 valve from original 67 valve covers in the last year. L36 as far as I have deduced for 66 67 would be using a 691 valve. It should be also noted that these were common motors in the other Chevrolet's in the low HP versions.

Ron, thanks for the info. Would it matter that it is a late production 67, end of June? Thanks.

It is doubtful with the valid data we have gathered that anything 67 had any part of the valve formed with what would first appear in 68MY. The one in the pictures is not even GM. Somewhere along the way the original valve was changed out. Real ones are out there with our paying a fortune either, you just have to keep your eyes open.
