I understand from my search of thr Archives that none of the restorers of C2 gauge clusters re-chrome the face of thr cluster as part of the restoration service. If I send the cluster out myself for rechroming, should I ask for simple flash chroming or triple plate chroming? (I know that the previous chrome should be removed. I aso realize that this pot metal that requires specialized chroming attention). I am concerned that triple plating will fill in the textured inner surface. Also, do most cluster restorers treat the rear surface of the cluster housing? My cluster has a little bit of surface rust that I would like to remove, but I am concerned about obliterating the "LB sticker" and the ink stamps on the backside of the housing. I believe that I read in the Archives here that someone reproduces the sticker, but would it be better to preserve the original sticker and ink stamps even if this would require leaving much of the surface rust? How do most professional cluster restorers handle this issue? Thanks as always in advance. Mike H.

Re: Gauge Cluster Restoration
Mike,
The stickers are reproduced, however, the reproduction stickers that I've seen are not identical to the original stickers. IMHO I would not allow the original sticker or ink stamp to be removed. If the restorer is going to treat the cluster's rear housing, make sure to let them know that you do not want the sticker or ink stamp removed.- Top
