    72 Windshield replacement quesiton

Would like advice on replacing windshield in 72 vette. Low mileage survivor. Starting to delaminate and have a chip that looks like it eventually produce a crack. Would like to keep as original as possible. Are OEM windshields available? etc. TL

The 68-72 tinted windshield, GM #3911121, was discontinued about 5 years ago. Even then, I expect the windshield being supplied at the end was not at all identical in every way to the windshields originally installed on the cars. Your best bet might be a specialty windshield supplier like OEM Glass.

I find that OEM Glass has closed their glass business, so you'll have to find another automotive specialty glass supplier. I'm sure there are other ones out there as I've seen them at Corvette shows although I don't recall the names.

Leave it alone. Those are just evidence of normal aging, and you'll probably open a can of worms by replacing it.
Odds are the delamination and the chip won't change in the next 10 years.

The chip can be repaired with epoxy and prevent cracking.
          It's a good life!

I am with everyone and agree with Paul on the chip. if its small enough they can repair and is pretty much invisible. I have had this done on my daily drivers.
