1960 Outside door handles - replacements part #'s?

I am looking for correct outside door handles...AIM states 4667425 (LH) & 4689426 (RH).
Is there other parts that will work and appear correct? (have these part numbers been replaced with new numbers/parts).
    I am looking at a set 41586543 (LH) & 4156542 (RH)...are these correct?
    Thanks, Dan

The original outside door handles for 1960 Corvettes were GM #4667425 and 4667426. GM #4667425 was discontinued in June, 1962 and replaced by GM #4156542. GM #4667426 was discontinued in January, 1962 and replaced by GM #4156543. Just how the later parts differ from the originals I do not know.

        Dan,

Link to two threads on C1 door handles that are worth reading.

I had my 59 judged last year and was dinged for having passenger door handles. Apparently they were angled up too far and not parallel with the ground. the handles are still on the car. in the interest of getting the correct set of handles, I purchase what I was told was a set of NOS 4156543 and 4156542 door handles in the original box with bubble wrap. the boxes look fairly old. I'm now trying to determine if these handles are actually correct NOS ones or if they are repos. The ones I just picked up are pictured below and when lined up with the ones on the car they appear to be an exact match so now I may have two of the incorrect pair. I read the posts above and i'm 1/4 inch thick at the bottom by the pushbutton and 1/4 wide. I'm at a 30 degree angle too. I'm a bit confused because it appears the correct part numbers were 4667425 (LH) & 4689426 (RH) however they were discontinued and replaced by the 543/542 part numbers. were 543/542 passenger car possibly and I need to get 425/426??? Also, there are no numbers on the inside of the supposedly NOS ones I just got. Should there be?

          what do you guys think?

The original door handles for your car were GM #4667425, right, and GM #4667426, left . This is a case where the odd-left, even-right rule does not apply.

The above handles were discontinued in 1962 and replaced by GM #4156542, right, and GM #4156543, left. The 4156542 and 4156543 were originally used for 1955-56 passenger cars.

Your chances of finding NOS GM #4667425 and 4667426 handles? VERY slim (and undoubtedly VERY expensive if you do).

You may can use the rear door handles of a passenger car, however the inside metal cover that goes inside the door may have to be trimmed.

Was under the opinion that a several of the Repro parts manufacturers had corrected their door handles. Check with Gary Pronesti, he may have some.

The problem with the original Repro door handles was IIRC the molds were from hardtop door handles.
