A lot of our members have newer cars and probably have replaced the run flat GoodYear tires already. I am about to do so on my 2007 Z06 and Michelins are $2200 while a set while Bridgestones are $1500. Give me your thoughts and impressions if you have the Bridgestones. Several chapter members at our Christmas party recommended them highly above the Michelins

Re: 2007 Z-06 Tires
Jimmy, after three sets of Goodyears I went to Michelin P cups, and couldn't be happier. Of course it didn't hurt that I had a wheel alignment before the Michelins -- I should have done that long before. Mine are 18 front and 19 back, probably like yours.Terry- Top

Re: 2007 Z-06 Tires
I have always liked the Michelin Pilot Sports (PS2s, not cup), but my son has Bridgestone (Potenza Pole Positions) and says they are fine.Last edited by Michael J.; December 24, 2012, 05:55 PM.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

Re: 2007 Z-06 Tires
While I cannot offer commentary based upon a C6..........I've bought lots of Bridgestones, Pirelli's, Conti's, etc, and only a very few Michelin's for the various Porsche's and occasional Ferrari that I have owned. And yes, the price variances for a set of four tires can run $500-1,000 easily...............do I notice that much of a difference, if any, in quantitative dollar terms by the seat of my pants ?
Nope.........not at all. My attitude towards rubber is, well, it's a consumable and my 911's needed a set every second year. At the Z rated exotic car level all the tires produced by the majors are really top notch, and I won't pay $500-1000 more just because I can.
My experience with Michelins, especially PS2's, is that they wear well, but also "cup" easily, so, they just aren't worth the money at replacement time. In fact, all Michelins seem that way to me.Last edited by Keith S.; December 24, 2012, 09:21 PM.- Top
