That's a very interesting story. Really hard to determine it's value. If you started to drive it the value would dip to normally low C4 values. I guess we'll see what it's worth. If it doesn't meet reserve on E-Bay it looks like it will go to BJ in January.

Wow! Very interesting. I would guess this would be a sure fire 100 pt. Top Flight car, right? Would the judges even waste their time inspecting it?

You can bet they would. I know them guys and gals. They might even update the TIM&JG based on it. Don't we all go crazy over original Corvettes?

You got that right Terry. And considering how much it costs, and the time and pain and suffering to put together a 100 pt. Top Flight and beyond C1, C2, or C3, this looks like a huge bargain, even at $40K!

Wow, that sounds nice too, is it all "in the wrapper" like this one?

There is no reserve on it despite what the article says. However, I suppose the owner might place his own bid on it if the price doesn't go high enough for him. Of course, that will cost him commission on the eBay "sale" price.

the 84 was driven off the transporter and onto my trailer, then tailered to our farm where it was put in storage. all plastic wrappers intact. vito came down from jersey when the 84 judging manual team was gathering data and used the black 84 as a template. i've never driven it.mike

                      Re: Recovered stolen Corvette

I'm saving mine to be used as my final resting place. I'm deciding on how I should be posed: with helmet on and hands at 10 and 2, or with a backwards baseball cap and leaning heavily on the console, one hand at 6 o'clock.

I should start a poll on this.

The bid is up over $35K now, and lots of bids, looks like it will sell. Mike, maybe you should put your '84 up with the great story you have on an eBay auction..

You don't think this hasn't already happened?

It could have, but if so he has five different aliases he is bidding under.

The new "thing" to prevent tracking is to use disposable email addresses. He could very easily open "mirage" accounts from these. Unless eBay monitors one's IP address.
