    DIY section

Would their be a Do it your self tec area that I am missing in this web site ? .
Many questions would not require answering if I could find a simple way to see how others have fixed issues with their own car. Yes I have done searches. (Wrench section and Tip section drop down )
Thanks Have a great Christmas all.

    Wayne,
The Restorer has how to's in it every issue. Check back issues for your topic. Also check out u tube for flicks on the same topics. You will be surprised what ya find. Some of the Corvette jobbers have sites with instructions on "how to".

It depends on what you're looking for, Wayne. You can Google any problem for a contemporary car and eventually find your answer. Vintage car repair procedures are harder to come by, but you can still find them. Gene's suggestion about YouTube is dead on, and the links will come up on any Google search.

However, the forums are the best source of information for repair ideas for any type of car. You have to do the "legwork" and go into the forums. These will also come up in the Google search. I'm sitting here looking at over 100 shop manuals from various years and models, and I even once thought about purchasing the electronic mechanics repair manuals, but most of this information is already there in the forums.

        Wayne,

There's very few how-to questions asked on this site, that's why they're not turning up.

I would get a second opinion on some of the YouTube videos. There is one there that is pretty much flat out wrong on how to replace C2/C3 rear wheel bearings.

It just occurred to me that our news letter alway contains some good how to do it's. So I would expect others to also have some. One can look thru the various chapter web sites to find something on the topic of choice. Most of them have the news letters on line. Some of us long time members have a good collection of data saved. I know my collection of information is much better than my retrieval system.......!

And let's not forget what we usually tell anyone getting into this hobby. First get all the books. There should be lots of threads on those.

Wayne, I think that the TDB is in a sense is a good way to start planing your next project on your corvette no matter what year you own. There are so many people here willing to spell it out for you, And theres so many of us that have been there and done that. and sometimes you can get the short version here.Becuase some of us have done it many times before. If all else fails there aways the shop manuel which gives you the details on taking something apart and reasembling.

I understand that rebuilding, referbushing can be a endless discussion. there are some great people here that have restored many eras of corvettes, and are willing to help along the project.

                    Re: DIY section

Merry Christmas . Thanks for all the responses'. Maybe the restorer could be placed in a DYI section on line as well. I have less room now for keeping paperwork and magazines at home. I prefer on line. ( Only My Thought ) Have a great New Years. Took my car out for a drive yesterday . Replaced timing chain gasket. Snow on the ground today.
