Re: 1966 tinted corvette windshield
Paul -
"In the biz", we call the trim bands (and the pattern of tiny dots) "frit".
Trivia - A couple of days after I joined Chrysler in 1985, I attended a future product (clay model and mockups) showing in the Styling Dome put together for an Iacocca review, for final sign-off on the new "C"-body cars. Iacocca didn't like the "frit" pattern around the windshield and how it aligned with the edge of the interior garnish moldings, and the meeting turned into an hour of lots of opinions on how the "frit" should be done from many folks well above my pay grade at the time.
After the meeting broke up I was out in the hall talking to Tom Gale (Styling VP at the time), and he was still hot under the collar; just before he stalked off down the hall, he said (loudly), "Jeezus, now we need a Vice President in charge of "frit" so we don't have any more of these stupid meetings."
