63 engine cast dates vs. build date

what are some of the ranges that people have seen on their cars or may have observed on others. I recently looked at a car where the block was only a week before the build date.This was on a nov. build date car.

Robert on my 63 coupe the block cast date is October 19 and the engine build date is October 22, the car build date is second week November.

Engine Cast Date D 5 3, Engine Build Date 0415, Car Build Date April 20th.

That seems to be more typical of what I typically see

In 1963 I think you will find the dates similar to the ones noted above. If you go to the C-2 registry you will find several examples of the stamped blocks and Nolan Adams book has several examples also. The more common the engine the closer the dates for example there were a lot of 250 and 300 hp cars and I think you will find the dates are closer then the 340 or 360 hp cars.

I think Bob is correct, As my Mar.14 car is VIN 110674 has a 340shp has a Jan. 18 cast date and assy date Feb.26 .the lower horse cars seem to be in line with the others list a week or two a part.

My May 15th Coupe #15240 engine cast May 6 (E63) and thought to be assy May 8 (0508RD).

I've compiled info on some other cars (5) built before my coupe, all of which are also 300hp RD and one which is a 250hp RC.
Starting with the 1st car right around vin 15,190 through #15,234, they all appear to be assy May 8 - 0508.
The engine castings are all close, ranging from May 3 - May 7 (E33 - E73).
