    62 solenoid

I am looking for a 62 solenoid. The # is 1119910. I have tried all of the places I know of, and would appreciate some input. Thank you Joe

corvette central states they sell a "starter solenoid w/correct delco #910". if not there i would call john pirkle to see if he has one.

Thank you John, I know it says restored, I was hoping against hope that I could find an original that is unrestored. I spoke to John Pirkle ( nice guy ) about a starter which he said he didn't have but I will call him about a solenoid. I guess I am shell shocked from the judging and I am on the hunt for original unrestored parts if possible. Thanks Joe

In my two regional flight judging experiences with my 1960, judges look for starter motor part number which is visible when they partially crawl under the car. On your 327, the solenoid part number may be easier to see. I don't know how close the 1962 repro solenoid is to the original, but you have to decide is the cost to acquire an original worth the few points the repro will count against you.

Not sure why you have a problem with a correctly restored solenoid if it is a correct original??

I don't have any knowledge of the Corvette Central one, but it says it is a restored original with a Delco stamped end cap. The only issue may be that the end cap looks correct but probably is not Bakelite since those are very hard to find.

I got a correct unrestored one from David Sokolowskyi for my 1960 but it was a little rough looking when I got it. He said it would likely need rebuilding. I got lucky and it worked after I cleaned it up and repainted the body. If you want an unrestored/unrebuilt original you might give him a call. The number I have for him is 310-329-5334

Note the difference in the first 3 number ones in the stamping of the part number 1119910 in the two Ebay auctions.

In the first Ebay auction below the first 3 numbers ones are almost like the letter "I". I suppose they had more then one stamping device at the Delco-Remy factory or more then one factory.
