1960 Heater Hose at Firewall Seal/Grommet

I am not certain what type of seal goes in the small hole where the brass pipe connection passes through the firewall. The AIM calls for a seal and a grommet and I assume I have the grommet in place where the entire hose passes through the firewall.

What type of seal do I need to cover the small diameter hole?

    Joe,

The foam seal is a piece of foam rubber. Most of the reproduction parts house have them. You can try Paragon, Corvette Central, or Dr Rebuild. The foam seal should be on the inboard heater hose and the grommet on the outboard hose.

      Joe,

Here is how I did mine. But I don't know if it is really correct or not.

The gap between the outer edge of the hole and the brass pipe is only 2/10" wide at the most. I used a 3/4" hole punch and then removed the center with an X-Acto knife; a very tight fit.
