67 Hood Release handle - AC equipped vs. non-AC equipped

Is the hood release handle & bracket configured differently (perhaps a longer bracket) on an AC equipped 67 than a non-AC 67?

I know the 65 hood release handle & bracket for AC equipped cars is different per an archive's thread - cannot find information on 67 models. Also realize that the AC hood release handle and bracket is located more inboard.

Is there any member who can send me or post a picture of the "hood release handle and bracket" for a 1967 Air Conditioned Coupe or Convertible?

I am trying to determine if the AC handle and bracket is configured differently from the non-AC 67.

Since things are a little quit here the only help I can offer is to check your AIM, the C60 air condition section, it may be there for 67.

Alan, good idea. If it's the same part # it has to be the same part. If it doesn't call out an add, change or delete it's also the same part as a non-AC car.

I know that my 63 non-AC car and my 63 AC car both have the same hood release handle.

My 1964, 1965, 1966, and 1967 Chevrolet Parts Catalogs list 3 different hood release cable assemblies (handle included) in Gr. 8.075:

          3820887: 1963-1966 wo/AC
          3841240: 1963-1966 w/AC
          3900251: 1967

GM # 3820887 is shown in the 1963-1966 AIM's and GM # 3900251 is shown in the 1967 AIM. I can not find GM # 3841240 in any of the AIM's.
UPC C60, sheet A4, in my 1966 AIM shows the hood handle but no part number. It shows the attaching nut (actually a plate with 3 holes), GM # 3846495; a rivet, GM # 3828472; and attaching screws, GM # 3848408.

Is the handle located in a different location for 1963-1966 AC cars? I never really noticed. The 3841240 cable assembly must be slightly longer then the 3820887 cable assembly.

          The bolts that attach the assembly on a non-AC 1966 are GM # 3860518 (5/16"-18 X 3/4" w/LW).
The bolts that attach the assembly on a 1967 are GM # 9417378 (UPC 11-13, sheet B5).

            Harry,

Is the hood release assemble attached to the dash support with 2 welded nuts on the dash support or is it a plate (aka nut, GM # 3846496) as shown on UPC C60, sheet 18.00?

Thank you Nick. The mystery in my mind is solved - probably was not a mystery to anyone else.

The hood release handle is the same on both AC & Non-AC cars - the part number is the same - it is mounted in the same holes unlike 1965.

It is the headlight door switch that is mounted inboard on '67 AC cars.
