Mid Year Headlight Switch
I am having difficulity getting the headlight knob/shaft in and out of my '64 headlight switch. Is therre something I need to look for or how do I determine my issue? Yes, I know to push the button on the botom of the switch.

push the spring loaded pin on the outside of the headlight switch upward, then forcebly push the knob foreward while quickly pulling back on same knob. mike -

I will give that a try tomorrow. One of our club member used a lot of force last time and I hope it did not damage somethiing. Any knowledge how its built inside the switch on how it locks on the shaft?Comment

Took Switch apart and found a small piece of the black slide broken off. Not exactly sure where is fell out, but must have been interferring with the shaft getting locked into place. Its all is working find, can put the shaft in and get it back out by pressing the button. I assume it was handled too hard in the past. Who knows what our cars have gone through in their life.
