I am reprinting this announcement by Mark Richman, a non NCRS member, which appears on other Corvette forums:
"I am sorry to have to Post this. But I would like to let the Corvette Community Know that My Good Friend Rob English off Restoation Conection in Mays Landing New Jersey has Passed.
Rob has been doing Corvtte Restoration on C-1 Thru C-3 for over 25 years. Rob's shop is Located in Mays Landing New Jersey. He was Know for his Body and Paint work as well as turning out many many NCRS Class Corvettes as well as custom Resto Mods.
Rob was on a Two fold Vaction. Rob and his wife, Edie were in Thiland where they help support Children and Villages with monies collected thru the 46Th Special Forces Association wounded warrior program.
They raise monies during the year here in the USA. Rob was not in the special forces but did serve in Thiland during the Vietnam Conflict. He was also a Certified Master Diver which was his and his wife's hobby. They would dive thuout the year here in the USA and other loctaions.
While in Thiland this week, something happend during a dive and he was taken from us. At this time this is all the info that I have. I assume He and his wife will be home sometime this week.
He will be missed as a good friend and a Credit to our hobby."
I am numb.........shocked!
Rob was one of the nicest, hard working, talented and honest guys I know.
He will be missed by many, and the hobby loses one of the best Corvette body/paint men in the USA.
As an NCRS member, his name will occupy a place of honor on our newly created Memorial Wall.
