    1963 Sebring Silver wheels

Did original 1963 Sebring Silver wheels, for blackwall tires, match the body color?
I've been told 63 silver wheels were not painted Sebring Silver, just a silver used in passenger cars.
I realize wheels were painted "enamel" and that bodies were lacquer.
I have a few silver wheels that were spares but even those don't match each other.

Jorjorian, The first 63 I ever saw in my life was in the summer of 62 at the GM training center. I was in the United Delco classroom and Chevy was next door. One day at lunch time three of us took a peak at a SWC up on the rack in the classroom. Was a silver car with silver wheels with blackwalls. I don't know if the silver matched the paint or not. JD

Bob, based on the bean-counter's victory to add a price to Sebring Silver, I would assume, but cannot prove, that the warning would go out to NOT use the lacquer with the Large silver flake. Generic silver wins again!!
