Re: Early or Late 1967
My guess is that you're looking for info because you're trying to determine which part is correct for your car, the "early" one or the "late" one. Unfortunately, that's not an easy answer. A part change from early to late could happen in October, or could happen in June. The question generally needs to be about a specific part, and the answer often requires a fair amount of discussion. Check the very recent thread about 66 and 67 bumper bolts.- Top

I agree with Mike. "Early" and "late" usually refer to specific running changes.

Re: Early or Late 1967
go to http://www.c2registry.org/index.php?uid=1030 In the left hand corner click on car birthday select year of car and the last 5 digits of the vin number that will tell you when it was built. That will give you some indication if it is an early or late built car. I hope this helps you?- Top

Have you checked the trim tag information on the bar under the glove box?

Re: Early or Late 1967
Mark - You mention replacement of the parking brake assembly (handle, etc). Is there a reason you aren't planning to replace like with like, i.e., a solid black handle for a solid black handle or a chrome trim one for a chrome trim one? After re-reading the PARKING BRAKE HANDLE description in the 1967 TIM&JG asking which one to use seems to have a lot of room for questioning because the last sentence reads "Examples of both designs appear throughout the model year." Good luck. Pete- Top

Re: Early or Late 1967
Mark,
Here's an archived thread on the style of 67 parking brake handles, chrome at top, or all black.
This supports Peter's post above that examples of both types appear throughout the year. My original brake handle on a June 29, 1967 car is all black.
So I think you have the choice of either type for judging.
However there are some differences in the scoring pattern between originals and replacements as noted in the thread.Jerry Fuccillo
