I would like to purchase the stiff envelope that I believe the owner's manual came in. Could someone post a photo of the correct envelope? I see a couple of different envelopes on ebay. One says "A Complete Mileage Maintenance Record and Folder".

Re: 1960 Operations Manual (owners manual)
The correct St. Louis envelope for a 1960 Corvette built after 5-20-60 is a grey paper envelope that has Owners Guiide/Owners Protection Policy. Prior to May 1960 there was no St. Louis envelope. After 11-23-60 (61 Model year) the word "Policy" became "Plan". The part # for the "Plan" envelope is 3785443. I don't believe the Policy envelope had a part number. The envelopes with "Policy" are very scarce where envelopes with "Plan" are more common. St. Louis did not put a paper envelope in a Corvette prior to May of 1960. Any envelope that you see in a pre May 1960 Chevrolet was a dealer provided item and there are many styles of those. When you refer to a "stiff" envelope you most likely are referring to a dealer supplied envelope and any mileage maintenance record etc. would be something not from St. louis. Trouble is that many the interior judges don't know this so who knows how it will be judged.- Top

Re: 1960 Operations Manual (owners manual)
Thanks for the info Dave. Since my car was built in December 1959, it would not have an envelope for the owner's manual. Do you know when the switch over occurred between the first edition and second edition of the 1960 owner's manual?- Top

Re: 1960 Operations Manual (owners manual)
I do not know the first to second edition change over date and I think it is safe to say nobody does. Some years had a date on the second edition manuals so an approximate change over could be determined but 1960 did not. In my opinion a December built car most likely had a first edition but a second edition is certainally possible.- Top
