interesting use of bfgoodrich silvertown

here's a treasure i found in my grandpa's garage attic. he once ran a shooting range and was a gun collector. it's a hand pull type clay pigeon machine. it is welded to a rim and bfgoodrich silvertown. its not in the best shape from probably sitting in the weather for years. this goes proves you will never know where corvette parts turn up or how they were recycled.

Given the spare is judged separately it probably has some value as long as it holds air. I bought a noon-DOT BFG silvertown whose interrior was coated with tar. The tar doesn't show when the tire is mounted and it holds air. It will never see the road.

This rim looks more like the one used on most 55-56 passenger cars. It has rivets and not the extra "ripple" just behind the small hubcap bumps. See a white Corvette wheel dated in 1960, and a 1956 Bel Air wheel on my FLICKR photo site.
