1956 correct headlight switch

I've been looking at NOS Delco headlight switches for my '56 and can't seem to figure out which is correct. Maybe someone can help. According to the AIM the correct part is #1995072, but there's also #1995082. The last 3 digits are stamped on the underside metal of the NOS that I've seen. Just to be sure, I squeezed myself under the dash and found something completely different: If you cant see the pic its stamped 082 and 090. Is this part available and if not are there options for reconditioning? Thanks IMG_0094.jpg

GM #1995072 is the headlight switch originally used for 1956. It was discontinued and replaced by GM #1995082 in August, 1958. Apparently, your switch was replaced at some point after that time. The GM #1995082 was available for many years being finally discontinued without supercession in September, 1993.

There may be aftermarket switches available since this switch was used for more applications than Corvette.
