67 AO Smith Seat Mount Plates

I did a search more to find a better color of zinc chromate than the Duplicolor I tried (too olive drab).

I saw the pics and Gene Manno's comments on the forward long seat mounts being zinc chromate.

Here is a pic of my "A" body seat mounts (early 67 s/n). These are black. It does show the zinc on the shifter reinforcement (the side rails where the rocker brackets are welded are zinc also).

I thought this was interesting, hopefully Gene will chime in.

Also, Gene, all the thick plates (belts & rear seat mt.) were zinc plated, correct?
    Thanks.

I don't believe the finish on the underneath parts on the AO Smith bodies is set in stone. The seat plates you are referring to are green zinc primer on my 65 but the rear panel stiffener that most think should also be green is black with never a trace of green zinc primer.

Yea, You're correct Jim, stiffeners. The laquer thinner fumes from cleaning the glass are getting to me.
My search shower green on them and, yea, no trace of chromate.
