i recently blacked out my muffler/exhasut pipes on my 65 327/300; after being judged at a chapter event, where is was told it was not enough. well looks like i went to far as regional says i have to much. anyone know how to remove? will laquer thinner clean it off so i can strt fresh? also any one have a good picture of the mufflers and exhasut for a 65?

Ron, There was a recent post on the blackout on a 65 N11 exhaust with in the last few weeks. It was a original exhaust, not sure you'll like it though unless you want to be totally correct. Do not forget there truly is nothing as the original any way. the coatings on the exhaust was not your typical spray bomb. Although the judges make remarks on the paint margins there truely were no two done a like. theres likely more point deducts for other issues with the exhaust system and should have configuration,,finish on pipes(factorys pipes were carbon steel) points deducted anyway,as paint is a finish and should not really amount to much.New England chapter member, 63 Convert. 327/340- Chapter/Regional/national Top Flight, 72 coupe- chapter and regional Top Flight.- Top
