63 Coupe valve ticking after engine shut down

    Hello All,
Great to back to NCRS. Nice upgraded site. So, here I am, I did a head gasket replacement to my stock 327/250 last month and seem to have a mysterious ticking sound coming from the left bank under the valve cover. This is after I turn the engine off. I figure someone can probably tell me in a split whats going on. Seems I might have my valve adjustment too tight. Or maybe I'm trying to find an excuse to pull the motor and trans and rebuild. My son(16) is actually taking an interest in cars now and wants to tear down an old 350 I have in the back. Any who, I'm posting to the experts and thank you for any input.

Lyle, Since the engine is shut down theres nothing moving internally. The only thing that comes to mind is the exhuast manifolds are cooling down and they will sometimes make a little noise, ticking is generally what it sounds like.Ed
