Radiator Cap Question A/C 13# RC-6

I have a radiator car that I am not sure if it is original or not. (1963)

It has "A/C" in a circle on the left and "13#, RC-6", in a circle on the right. The other words "TURN RIGHT" and "REMOVE SLOWLY" is stamped very lightly.

I know the #13 is good, but the RC-6, I am not familiar with. I looked in the JG, but did not findwhat I was looking for.

An RC-6, aka GM #850800, did have Corvette applications but all were prior to 1963 and involved applications with a copper brass radiator. It is not designed for use on aluminum radiators or aluminum supply tanks which all 1963 Corvettes were equipped with. The reason is that it does not have features designed to prevent galvanic corrosion between the steel cap shell and the aluminum tank. I seriously doubt that GM would ever have used it for a 1963 Corvette application. And, even if they did, it's not recognized as "typical factory production".
