    GM Goodwrench Anti-Valve- Recession Additive 12oz can

    I bought a case of this a long time ago only used a couple of cans, did this really do anything for valves??

    I guess even GM sold snakeoil. Ya just can't stop normal wear unless you don't use it........

      You are lucky it has not eaten it's way out of the cans. Most of those products would eat holes in the can. Don't ask me how I know.

        I don't know what "active ingredient" the GM product contained. The most effective is Powershield manufactured by the Lubrizol Corporation and that's probably what the GM product contains. This is a sodium-based compound. It IS effective in preventing exhaust valve seat recession assuming one needs such protection. Corvettes do not generally fall into that category. However, there's no downside to using it, especially if you already own it. So, if you want "extra protection", use it up.
