67 Radio Suppression Cap on Instrument Cluster

This capacitor is on the top of the cluster on the inboard side. The AIM shows it connected to the TAN wire on the brake lamp. That makes sense since that lamp flashes and would make radio clicks.

But on removal from my car I found it attached to one of the illumination lamps.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks & Happy T Day to all.

    Steve,

To me it looks like someone erroneously connected it to a dark blue wire because the cap wire is dark blue. Dark blue is the Right directional indicator.

It should definitely go to the tan brake warning lamp indicator wire.

p.s. you will have much fun getting that little pin to pierce the tan wire when the cluster is installed!
