The one I got was painted black and dulled out and the threads were painted. Best part; he's a member. I am going to see if he does the right thing and stands behind the part. It's not a lot of money but it's the principal of the thing.

    To be honest, the one in the original eBay picture did appear to me to have been painted. It was not painted as glossy a black or as completely as the one you got, but I believe it had been painted. I thought that from the first time I saw the photo.

      If you look at the one that's on line it has 2 lines in the body of it and the treads are not painted. The one I recieved has no lines in it and the treads are black.

        Yes, there's no question that the one you received is different than the one in the original photo. However, the one in the original photo was painted and did not evidence its original finish. Presumably, he could send you the one in the photo and then you'd be getting the exact item you bid on but you'd still probably not be more satisfied than you are with the one you received.
