I'm thinking of buying a dated spark plug wire set from chicago corvette FOR A 66, did anyone buy a set and if so are you satisfied?

If this is a car that you plan on DRIVING, I wouldn't go with a reproduction, correctly dated wire set. I'd go with a set of NEW DELCO wires (the type with of correct length with both ends installed) and forget about the dating and other features of originality.

GM #12043782, aka Delco 508N, are just like the originals except for dates and, more notably, RED boots on the spark plug end. If you want the engine to run well and be reliable, these are the ones to use.

I installed a set back around 1992 that I got from "Lectric Limited" in Chicago and they are still going strong (red line capable), and continue to look great. No problems with the ends during plug or cap changes either.

I agree.......my set was from about 1995. But with the breakup of ACDELCO the source of these wires changed, and so did the reliability and performance.
