Re: coil Id
I don't know what its original application is. It's possible it's not even Chevrolet. From what I can tell, the part number of GM #1115293 was a PRODUCTION-only part (probably a part number for the coil + bracket). I can tell you this much, though: it's interchangeable with the GM #1115238, a SERVICE coil which is widely applicable to pre-1975 Chevrolet applications. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: coil Id
Bill,
The "293 BR" coil (GM # 1115293 ) was original equipment on 1970 Chevrolet models including the 1970 Camaro SS350 (my current project). I have several in my collection. GM # 1115293 is listed in the 1968, 1969, 1970, and 1971 Camaro AIM's (UPC 6). The "293 BR" coil may be correct for other model years as well. The 1115293 coil is not listed in my 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, and 1972 Chevrolet parts catalogs (Gr. 2.170), apparently it was never sold as a service coil.
