1956 1st Edtion Motor Oil Breather Cap?

Can soemone clarify which breather cap was used on the first edtion motors 225HP 2 X 4. Is it the vented style and what type of finish was on it? Any decals. I have read the JG but it talks about 270, 245, 250 and 283 HP engines.

service bulletin DR #263, subject: crankcase breather assembly cap on corvette and high performance passenger cars, issued on sept. 28, 1956, states that the "early 56 corvette closed caps(#1552719) were to be replaced with a cadium plated cap(#1552940) with open breather holes". there would be no need for cleaning instructions on a closed breather cap.

Your car would have been delivered with a cad plated non vented oil cap with no label.
