Morris-----
You're looking for a GM #3758369. The bad news is that this oil guard was discontinued without supercession in October, 1983. The good news is that this same guard was also used on most other 1956-66 small block intake manifolds. So, if you can find some old "junker" 56-66 manifold, even a forlorn 2 barrel, you've got what you're after. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: oil splash gaurd
Morris,
My 1966 Chevrolet Parts Catalog (Oct. 1965) lists GM # 3758369 for 1958-1966 ALL, CORVETTE (283,327) (exc. F.I., dual 4BC, H/Per 327). Nothing is listed for the 1966 Corvette 327 w/SHP. However, My 1966 Corvair-Chevy II -Chevelle Parts Catalog (Jan. 1966) lists GM # 3758369 for the 1966 Chevy II w/SHP (327).
GM # 3758369 is listed for the 1967 Corvette w/SHP (327) in my 1967 Chev. Parts Catalog (Apr. 1967) and it was also original equipment on 69-72 models w/SHP (350). Since the 3890490 intake was used on both 1966 & 1967 Corvettes w/SHP (327) than the 3758369 guard would be correct for your 1966.
Enclosed are 4 photos of 4 different splash guards. The application labeled on each is not complete. The 3872754 guard was actually removed from a small* block cast iron intake w/"3872783" casting and "B 28 6" (Feb. 28, 1966) casting date.
*corrected, thanks to John
Chev. Parts History:
GM # 3799998 replaced in Oct. 1967 with GM # 3872754 which was replaced in May 1975 with GM # 3946830.
GM # 3758369 was discontinued sometime between Jan . 1982 and Jan. 1990.

Re: oil splash gaurd
The 3872783-cast intake was used on '66-'67 327/300hp Holley-equipped small-block Corvettes; almost all of them were cast in early to mid-1966 and "banked" ahead of time to supply later 1967 production.- Top

Re: oil splash gaurd
My mistake. It must be old age. The 3872783 intake is a "spare" for my 1966 w/327 (300 HP). I will make the correction so as not to confuse others.
Thanks,
Dave- Top
