Wally, is the tire a whitewall, blackwall or even a redline?

As far as I know the only codes available for non-DOT tires are for GoodYear, but I can always learn more.

Terry is correct. The US Royal tire company changed their name to Uniroyal in late 66 so your tire is correct for a 67. Hope this helps.

I remember back in '64-'66 when I was a Production Foreman at Willow Run (Chevy II and Corvair) that many customers refused delivery of new cars that had U.S. Royal tires, or had the dealer change the tires to another brand (Goodyear, Firestone, General, etc.) due to U.S. Royal's less-than-stellar reputation at the time.

When the dealer ordered a car and didn't want U.S. Royal tires on it, the Broadcast system entered a code from the dealer order that printed out "Akron Tires Only" below the lower margin on the Body and Chassis Broadcast Copies, as all the OEM tire manufacturers were headquartered in Akron, Ohio except U.S. Royal, which was in Detroit. This continued for four or five years thereafter.

I remember the reputation. They were known (here in NY) as "US Royal Baldies".

I love my Uniroyal Tiger Paws. Sounds like they were/are lousy tires but, they're groovy today.

The Tiger Paws in my 1967 GTO lasted less than 3000 miles.
I was 17 and broke from buying new tires for that car but they were cool indeed.
