I received my copy of the new 1968-69 Judging Guide today. It is fantastic and I think surpasses any other Judging Guides currently out there and, certainly, any previous editions of the 68-69 JG. Big kudos to Dick and Reba Whittington.
On a first pass through, though, I did discover an error and, once again, I am ashamed of myself for not catching it in the review process. However, I have covered this issue several times on this discussion board. The issue relates to 1969 small block harmonic balancers. Although the 1968 300 hp balancer is 6" OD, ALL 1969 small block harmonic balancers are 8" OD. This includes BOTH 300 hp and L-46. The WIDTH of the balancers is different, but the OD is the same. The 300 hp balancer is 1-5/16" in width whereas the L-46 is 1-11/16" in width. The same 8" X 1-5/16" balancer was also used for 1970 300 HP and 1971 270 HP.
Perhaps folks could annotate their new JG's with this correction.
