86 Corvette Park Lockout Cable, 4+3

Hey guys I am working on an 1986 Vette 4+3 and the Park Lock Cable broke right at the shroud. Need help to find a new one and some help on removing the old one and installing a new one.
    Thanks!

The part you seek was originally GM #14050072 and later GM #14076182. Unfortunately, the latter was discontinued without supercession in January, 1999. I doubt that a reproduction is available but it's possible as a few C4 parts are starting to be reproduced.

I would say your best bet at this point is going to be good used. In that regard, a C4 used parts source like Steve Arcoleo in New York or Contemporary Corvette in PA could probably supply it. The cables from any 84-88 with 4+3 should work but I'd probably prefer one from an 85-88 which originally used the 14076182.

Thanks for the help guys and I do have the Y Carline Book! I was also wondering if they make any other parts for the steering column as well from these places since it does not seem like your average job.

If you mean are any steering column parts for 86 Corvettes still available from GM, the answer is that most are discontinued. There might be a few left, though. By "Y Carline Book" are you referring to a Parts and Accessories Catalog applicable to certain model year C4 Corvettes?

Okay I am looking at the cable and it is fine but now my problem has gotten a bit deeper. The cable back drive pin and spring are the problem. How do i get these 2 guys out since they are still stuck in the steering column. They seem to snap at the place in the worst place since I don't want to damage the column.
Also I have the repair booklet which is named 1986 Corvette Shop Manual ST-387A-86 as my guide.
