I think they were distributed in different ways. At times Owners Kits had it as an insert and obviously direct mail was another. GBM got a mailing list from Joe Pike so it could be focused on new Corvette Owners. Corvette clubs were an important part of the Corvette movement (just look at the club lists in the early Corvette news) so I'll bet that became part of the marketing approach for GBM.
GBM items are scarce and collectible. I remember Bill Lester had several and I was too cheap to step up for them.

I have a tonneau cover that came with my first 60, does it have a makers logo somewhere, I still have it?

Would suspect there's some type of manufacturer ID on it, but don't know for sure.

I'll ask Mr. Baker (35) if he can locate the tonneau cover he has. Might even be able to have him take a photo.
