Re: C4 Seat Release Latch and Bezel
Doug-----
That could very well be what happened. I just did a little more research (any parts situation can get incredibly complicated and I sometimes have to look deeper than I thought I'd need to). It looks like there was only 1 part number for the seat back lock bezel for 1994. Although I can't say, for sure, this was probably a black bezel. The multiple part numbers for different colored bezels began for the 1995 model year and continued for 1996. However, the 1994 bezel was discontinued in October, 1994 and replaced by the 1995 black bezel. Checking further, the other-than-black colored bezels are shown as applicable only to the 1995-96 model years (but for both standard and sport seats).Ed Nieves

Re: C4 Seat Release Latch and Bezel
Generally, what GM specified in SERVICE is what was used in PRODUCTION, especially when we're talking about 1994-96 era SERVICE. I have NEVER seen a case in which GM specified a color-matched part in SERVICE but used a black part only in PRODUCTION.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: C4 Seat Release Latch and Bezel
Out of coincidence, when my '94 Convt. was delivered to me after purchase from the 2nd owner, I found the following seat back bezel still in the original GM package (re-labeled by Corvette Central).
Group no. 11.390, Part No. 10262345
There's no telling how old this piece is - the car has been sitting for most of its life the past 12 years. Also sent along a photo of the bezel in my std. tan seats in my Copper Convt.

GM #10262345 was the black 1995-96 bezel. It became SERVICE for 1994 when the 1994 bezel, GM #10248426, was discontinued in September, 1995.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: C4 Seat Release Latch and Bezel
Guys, just a little update on this topic. I e-mailed Tom Barr and proposed the question to him. He stated that he thinks they should be black, but he was going to confirm with Glorie. Also, I watch the 1995 video tape that comes with the car and I noticed several coupes with gray and tan seats with black latches and bezels on the standard seats. I did not see any converts, but I would think that any convertible that came with standard seats would also have latches and bezels in black.I can't see, Lear building standard seats with black latches and bezels just for convertibles. The logical pattern may have remained consistent. At least, we would think so.

Re: C4 Seat Release Latch and Bezel
I don't know about 95s, but my 9k mile one-owner 96 has never been out of my possession except for very short periods for minor maintenance. For my current standard seat tan bezels to have originally been black, someone would have had to have changed them without my request, knowledge or consent during those short maintenance periods, which were for completely unrelated matters. Anybody honestly think that happened?
I'm gonna look at my 96 video to see if I can see any bezels and if I can I'll let you all know what I find.- Top

Re: C4 Seat Release Latch and Bezel
I found a video that shows a 1995 with red standard seats and red bezels and red latches. It's presumed to be all original. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfWni...eature=related I'm posting a few other videos that show more 1995s with matching colored latches and bezels. Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCNyfODdlwk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QmUUnMrtI20
